The primary beneficiary will be CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children). The two secondary beneficiaries of the event will be Vail Valley Charitable Fund and Colorado West Mental Health.

“The Hoedown is a great way to support much needed causes and programs throughout the Vail Valley,” said Jim Flaum of Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate. “Our companies have always been proud supporters of the community, and this event is a tremendous way to show our support in a fun, Western atmosphere. We are thrilled for the support this will bring our 2008 beneficiaries.”

Angels in Action 5K Benefit Run

The Angels in Action 5K Run/Walk is held each summer to benefit the Crissa Lea Swinford Memorial Scholarship Fund. Each year, the event grows with over one hundred people taking part in the run/walk at Nottingham Park and along the Eagle River in Avon, Colorado. The 2008 race however has been cancelled and will resume next year.

The race benefits The Crissa Lea Swinford Memorial Scholarship. This merit scholarship is awarded to Battle Mountain High School students who display the characteristics displayed by Crissa Lea Swinford. Last year, the fund awarded two $2,500 scholarships to two young women from Battle Mountain High School. All proceeds from the race go directly to the scholarship fund.

If you would like to donate to the scholarship fund, please contact Cara Connolly at (970) 845-2049 or cconnolly@slifer.net.
